Everything you should know before getting started...

I don't feel confident... Can I still work on my skills of expression?

Absolutely. Confidence rarely comes on its own if we don’t put in the effort. Usually, we need to dive into something and start learning. Our role is to create challenges that you can tackle, allowing confidence to grow through practice and success. There’s definitely a 'layer' (more on layers below) where you already excel, and we can build on that

What's the first step after we get in touch?

We start with an analysis of a sample of your speech or writing. If you don’t have anything ready to send, we’ll provide assessment tasks. After that, we’ll have our first meeting—half-hour consultations where we discuss your strengths and weaknesses and outline what could be improved or highlighted to help you express yourself at your best. We’ll also decide whether an online course or individual exercises/consultations would suit you better.

What are the 'layers' we can work on?

Breathing, relaxation, and voice quality (is it healthy? pleasant?), diction, pronunciation of sounds, emphasis, and any divergence from standard language (such as an audible dialect). Nonverbal communication—gestures, facial expressions, posture, clothing, makeup, and further nuances of voice, as it conveys so much, along with timing. Word choice (rhetorical devices, humor, eloquence), suitability for the audience and context, managing fear and stage fright. Structuring various types of speeches (like a toast or interview questions), selecting strong arguments, and delivering a pitch in one, two, or three minutes. Communication skills, creativity, critical thinking, media communication—in both traditional and new media. Croatian for foreigners and Croatian for native speakers.

Am I a professional speaker, too?

If speaking at work is part of your role and you care about how you present—not just what you say, but how you say it—then, in a sense, you’re a professional speaker. Professional speakers aren’t just journalists and TV hosts; they include, for instance, teachers and caregivers, who know well how crucial their delivery is, especially when working with children. Today, more and more people, whose jobs once involved mainly conversation, are taking on new responsibilities—like giving presentations or leading meetings. In these moments, exercises or training can make a difference, equipping you with skills that will benefit both your career and personal life. (And imagine the effect when confident from practice, you pick up a glass at a party and give a toast that everyone remembers... for all the right reasons!)

What does the online course look like?

The online course is divided into four modules—a complete beginner level and three intermediate levels. This course doesn’t reach the ‘highest level’ of speaking experience, as that level requires in-person practice on stage, in front of an audience. :) When you’re ready to begin, you’ll take a quiz to determine which module is the best fit for you. Once you enroll, all materials will arrive by email at your chosen pace (2, 3, or 4 times a week), delivered in short lessons and exercises. We are always available by emailto answer your questions along the way. Depending on your pace, the course lasts one month, a month and a half, or two months. More details coming soon.

Anything for business clients?

Can we arrange a training program for businesses?

Of course. We’re developing packages tailored for business clients. These include a mix of individual skill development, group exercises (since you already know each other), and on-demand consultations and advice (such as, ‘Is it correct to say…?’). And if you have a question that professional or academic literature doesn’t answer, we can conduct research to find the solution.
